Delegates will be provided with pre-course reading by email two weeks prior to attending the course. This pre-reading provides a mixture of theory, sample questions and application of PRINCE2 to a project. The success on the course will be enhanced by close attention to the pre-reading materials so it is recommended that delegates spend approximately 10 hours working through the pre-reading.
Delegates will be presented with the official PRINCE2 manual: “Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2” on the first day of the course.
Additional work will be required during events consisting of consolidation reading, mock examination questions and exercises. This work is an integral part of the course and delegates should expect to spend 2 hours on each of these activities.
All delegates will sit the PRINCE2 Foundation examination on the fourth week of the course. The PRINCE2 Practitioner examination takes place on the sixth week.
Please note: You must bring signed photo ID with you on any APMG exam (passport, driving licence, student card) as you will be asked to produce it by the invigilator prior to the exam. You must also be familiar with the APMG Terms and Conditions of Certification which can be found here on the APMG International website.

A different perspective of the differences between Portfolio Management and Project Programme Management.
Today, my colleague Scott Hayes got in touch about the post I made yesterday. Scott has actually looked into the proposed laws a little more carefully than I had. Actually, I get by on hearsay and Wikipedia most times. Anyhow, in light of his insight, I have rethought and refined my opinion. Told you I would!
26th January 2012 was a significant day. Not because it was my 49th birthday (I’m sure your cards are in the post) but because that was the day that the European Union and others signed up to the Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement – ACTA. Something that had my angry 17 year old ranting through the birthday meal. He was incredulous that I hadn’t heard of it. He and his fellow Media Studies students are really quite concerned.
It’s a very Hans Gruber thing to say I know, but when reflecting on our three types of training courses I often wonder whether innovative approaches such as eLearning or Virtual learning will eclipse the traditional classroom-style course. Sure they offer more flexibility for different learning styles and different budgets but is there something to be said for the personal touch?
I am of an age where Blogs/Twitter/Texting etc are not my milieu! However just to prove to myself that you can teach an old dog new tricks (otherwise why would learning be my passion?!), I have decided to write my first blog.
